Outlook of a painting contractor on what are the
traits of a good painter.
Having your own hand tools.
While a painter can count on a contractor he is working for to provide with all major
equipment: power washer, sprayer, ladders etc, having a few hand tools needed to complete virtually any painting project:
masker with separate blades for paper and plastic, putty knife, drywall knife etc, separates a good painter from an average
one.
Bringing your own lunch to work.
There are a lot of times in painting business when you need to put a few extra hours a week to finish
a painting project on time. Finding a place in unfamiliar neighborhood to buy lunch is time consuming. Have a lunch prepared
in advance and with you eliminates the necessity to leave the job site.
Vehicle in good working condition.
While anyone can have a flat tire
or other unexpected problems with a car now and then, having constant mechanical problems with your vehicle, will put behind
the schedule any painting contractor.
Return all phone calls during
lunch break.
While it is ok to answer a phone call to let the caller know
you will call them back with a first opportunity, to answer every call and text message that comes in and painting doesn't
go together.
Saving a favorite radio station for painting an interior
of a vacant house.
Listening to music sometimes makes work go faster as
long as one keeps in mind that not everyone likes the same type of music. When painting an exterior, the neighbors may not
appreciate loud music coming from behind the back yard for a few days in a row.
Using
quality materials and paint on every job is not enough. Using quality painters is what makes the painting job long lasting
and painting experience stress free.
